Hermione Warr

DPhil Student

I received my integrated master’s degree in Physics from the University of Manchester in 2021. My master’s project was with the Radiotherapy Related Research group and involved the diagnosis of Sarcopenia from CT scans using machine learning, which inspired me to go into health research. I undertook an internship with the NHS to further apply this work to a larger clinical dataset from the Christie hospital in Manchester. Last year, I also worked as an associate scientist for a genetics company, Genomics PLC, looking at predicting cardiovascular events from polygenic risk scores.

In my spare time I am a keen sailor and avid reader. I intend to sail around the world once I have finished my DPhil!
