It is WHO World Malaria Day. In this video  Professor Pete Gething, group lead of the Malaria Atlas Project (MAP), describes changes in malaria risk in recent years and the need to understand how it will change in the future in order to 'better inform our ability ... to control the disease.' The project uses data from many sources to identify the risk and the effects of interventions.

The project works with international organisations such as the World Health Organisation to influence global policy, as well as national organisations to implement prevention strategies in high-risk countries.
