Zhi Yan Bo

DPhil Student

I completed my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Oxford in 2018, followed by an MSc in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London. During my master’s project, I investigated the added predictive value of serum biomarkers in colorectal cancer risk prediction using the UK Biobank dataset. With an interest in health data science, I worked as a trainee healthcare scientist specialising in health informatics at an NHS Trust in Liverpool for three years, where I participated in various research and clinical projects. Alongside my training, I completed a part-time MSc in Clinical Bioinformatics at Manchester University and gained experience in applying machine learning models to classify brain MRI images for screening purposes during my MSc project.

Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, sketching and outdoor walking.
