Rosario Evans Pena

CDT student

Before joining the Health Data Science CDT, Rosario completed an integrated master’s in biology at the University of Oxford.

Rosario undertook two summer research internships with the Kraemer Lab where she developed her interests and skills in computational and spatial infectious disease epidemiology.

Her master’s project assessed the impact of human mobility patterns on the reproduction number of SARS-CoV-2 in England. During this time, Rosario also contributed to various clinical data integration and GIS projects.

She is looking forward to learning about the applications of AI in infectious disease epidemiology and in clinical applications, as well as seeing how her research interests evolve throughout the CDT.
