Petra completed her MEng in Engineering Science degree at the University of Oxford with a focus on biomedical and software engineering. For her master's project, she developed a registration tool for MRI images to enable the evaluation of biomarkers for monitoring patients' response to cancer treatments.

Following her undergraduate degree, Petra spent five years working in various engineering and computing roles within the NHS. During this time, she completed the Scientist Training Programme and earned her MSc in Clinical Sciences at KCL. Her dissertation focused on optimising alarm limits on patient monitors to reduce alarm fatigue in the emergency department.

Outside of her studies, Petra is an avid gym-goer and baker. She also enjoys reading, going to the theatre and travelling.
