Pete Scott

CDT Student

Pete completed his BSc in Computer Science at the University of Sheffield, graduating summer 2024. For his dissertation project, he developed a novel computational model simulating freediving biophysics and physiology. This experience sparked a passion for interdisciplinary research and applying computational techniques to solve problems in real-world contexts.

Following this, Pete worked part-time as a research assistant at the University of Sheffield, where he developed Virtual Reality (VR) models of the bladder using imaging data. The resulting VR tool enables new ways of visualising and interacting with the data, with the potential to unlock new insights that may be difficult to perceive through traditional 2D displays.

Joining the HDS CDT, he is excited to continue learning and developing as a researcher, whilst drawing on his technical background to contribute to innovative healthcare solutions.

During his free time, Pete enjoys photography, videography and hiking, so can often be found out and about with his camera.
