MIKE SUTTIE

Biography

I studied for a BSc in computer science, and an MSc in biomedical imaging from the University of Kent. Upon graduating, I took up a post under the mentorship of Prof. Peter Hammond at the GOSH UCL Institute of Child Health, specialising in identifying facial dysmorphology in genetic conditions using 3D image analysis. Alongside this position, I studied for a Ph.D. at University College London and currently hold a post as a researcher in medical image analysis at the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health, with our lab located at the Big Data Institute. Currently, I am a principal investigator for a project funded by the National Institutes of Health focusing on identifying Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) using 3D image analysis. This NIH funded project is part of a multidisciplinary global consortium, the Collaborative Initiative on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (CIFASD), whose main goal is to inform and develop effective interventions and treatment approaches for FASD.
