CDT Student

Lorenzo completed his MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Imperial College London, graduating with distinction. He previously earned a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. His master’s research focused on graph neural networks, where he developed a knowledge distillation algorithm for accelerated inference on edge devices.

After completing his degree, he worked as a Data Scientist at J.P. Morgan, and earlier gained experience as a Software Engineer at Barclays and Imagination Technologies.

His research interests lie in multimodal and representation learning, as well as in machine learning theory, with a focus on applying these methods to healthcare challenges, particularly the study of ageing-related diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

Outside of his studies and work, he enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors, playing board games, and bouldering.
