Dylan Taylor

CDT student

Before arriving at Oxford Dylan completed his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Bristol. Shortly after, Dylan completed a MSc in Statistics at the University of Warwick and became very interested in medical statistics, writing his dissertation on the use of regularisation for inference in biomaterials experiments.

In 2023 Dylan was awarded an NIHR Pre-Doctoral Fellowship. Supervised within the University of Warwick’s screening research group, for a year Dylan conducted his own research using novel statistical and machine learning methods to answer questions about the English breast cancer screening programme, whole genome screening and subgroup behaviour clustering in clinical trials.

Dylan’s DPhil is part of the ongoing Oxford-Novartis collaboration, supervised by Prof. Thomas Nichols, Dylan is extremely interested in the development of inferential tools and how we can use data to learn about our world and health.

Outside of work Dylan is an avid outdoor climber, jiu-jitsu practitioner and café-goer.
