Anna Frangou

PhD

Postdoctoral Bioinformatician in Cancer Genomics

Anna Frangou is a postdoctoral bioinformation in cancer genomics. She is currently analysing large whole-genome datasets collected by Genomics England, primarily for testicular and colorectal cancer, on multiple mutational levels. She also has an active collaboration with Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald examining Barrett's oesophagus - the precursor to oesophageal cancer.

She completed her DPhil in population genomics with Professor Simon Myers at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford, where she developed and applied methods to infer the date of admixture between modern and archaic humans.

Anna's primary research interests are the link between genomic (and other omic) data and its clinical application, and the early detection of cancer.
