After completing his MPhil in Mathematics and Philosophy at Oxford, Alex returned home to Melbourne to work as a data analyst at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

He primarily researched how crowd forecasting methods such as prediction markets could be improved using machine learning to more accurately forecast future events, including Covid-19 cases and fatalities.

More recently, Alex worked as an economic analyst at the Department of Infrastructure. During this time, he contributed to a range of projects, including modelling a variety of decarbonization measures in the transport sector.
