Alankar started his DPhil at the BDI group under the Nuffield Department of Population Health in October 2018. His research will be focused on audio semantics and content analysis on recordings collected from "GameChanger" a major new study for detecting longitudinal cognitive change in population-level cohorts.
Before starting at NDPH, Alankar worked as a research engineer at Oxford Wave Research Ltd., Oxford where he developed products in the areas of audio fingerprint analysis, audio processing and speaker recognition. He has a bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering and a masters (MSc) from Institute of Information Technology, Alpen-Adria Universität, Austria working on his masters thesis on “Combining multiple tracking approach to improve performance” for which he won the best student award in EPiCS video contest organised by “European Proprioception in Computing Systems “(EPiCS).
