Anna's research has largely been focused on developing machine learning models and specialist algorithms for various types of microscopy imaging. This includes the detection of malaria parasites in blood smears, classification of lymph node cancer biopsies, and advanced colour normalisation for improved segmentation of NASH features in liver biopsies.

Anna's studied Computer Science at Lancaster University and then completed a master's degree in Bioinformatics at Newcastle University. After graduation, she's worked at Perspectum, an Oxford-based med-tech company.
