Visiting Epidemiologist
Iris is a visiting epidemiologist in the Translational Epidemiology Unit (TEU) at the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) and a postdoctoral research fellow in the Harvard-Oxford Program in Epidemiology with Professor David Hunter. She is a Research Associate at Green Templeton College, where she mentors MSc students.
Her current research examines long-term nutrition and genetic determinants of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, and cognitive function in the Nurses' Health Study, Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and the Million Women Study.
Prior to coming to Oxford, Iris completed her doctoral degree in Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She worked at the Channing Division of Network Medicine for her dissertation research, where she analysed data from three, large longitudinal studies to conduct both cohort-specific and pooled analyses. She also conducted research examining gene-environment interactions and assessing risk scores for predicting Parkinson's disease.
