Recent studies have shown that between 40 and 50% of premature babies of low birthweight are likely to suffer, during the first 48 hours of life, from a particular form of brain haemorrhage known as Intra-Ventricular Haemorrhage (IVH). We have developed a method to image the changes in resistivity associated with IVH to provide the required information on the location and timing of the haemorrhage.
