Claire Lancaster

PhD

Postdoctoral Cognitive Scientist

Claire Lancaster is a postdoctoral researcher working as part of the Digital Phenotyping Group in the Big Data Institute. Specifically, Claire is interested in how behavioural paradigms can be designed to detect Alzheimer’s disease in the very earliest stages, and the value of deploying such cognitive assessments using digital technologies (e.g. smartphones). Integral to her research is the validation of newly developed digital assessments against established neuropsychological tests and biomarkers of disease. In addition to being involved in clinical research studies, Claire works on the GameChanger study, a national project supported by Alzheimer’s Society.

Before joining the Big Data Institute, Claire completed her PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Sussex. Claire’s thesis investigated the impact of carrying a genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease (the APOE e4 variant) on cognition from mid-adulthood.
