Data Scientist

I am a data scientist at the Big Data Institute within Oxford Population Health. As a member of Dr. Goylette Chami’s Big Data and Helminth Epidemiology Research Group, I am involved in research relating to schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease endemic in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our project SchistoTrack studies transmission and risk factors of schistosomiasis-related morbidities and involves large-scale primary data collection from cohorts in Uganda. My role as a data scientist involves managing, wrangling, and exploring the large volume of data, and performing statistical analyses in collaboration with other members of the group.

Prior to joining Oxford Population Health, I completed an MEng Engineering Science degree at the University of Oxford, where I specialised in machine learning and computer vision. My Master’s thesis explored the use of transformer neural networks for real-time human pose estimation.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing and watching football and tennis.
